Genjutsu pricing: what a video costs
Genjutsu Generator uses credits, but you shouldn't need a calculator to know what a video costs. This page gives the price per video at every resolution, the exact billing rule, and the credit packs. There's no subscription: you buy a pack once, paid credits last 12 months from purchase, and at launch new accounts get 80 free credits to start. All prices below are planned launch prices.

Planned launch pricing. Credits = seconds used (max 15, rounded up) × credits per second. The dollar range depends on which pack the credits come from: $0.0198 per credit in the $99 Studio pack up to $0.0225 per credit in the $9 Starter pack. If the clip is shorter than 15 seconds, it costs less, and the app will show the exact credit cost before you press Generate.
How billing works
credits = seconds used (max 15, rounded up) × credits per second
How billing will work at launch:
- The source clip must be at least 4 seconds. We use up to the first 15 seconds, so no video costs more than the 15-second price for its resolution.
- Seconds are rounded up. A 9.2-second clip at Light 720p is billed as 10 seconds: 10 × 10 = 100 credits.
- The app shows the exact credit cost on the Generate button before you start.
- If the output comes out shorter than the estimate, the difference will go back to your balance.
- If a generation fails, the credits it used are planned to be returned to your balance automatically (credits, not money). All pack purchases are final; see the refund policy.

Video counts are for 15-second Light videos; shorter clips stretch further. Paid credits expire 12 months after purchase, and paid videos have no watermark. Free signup credits need a verified email, are limited to Light at 480p, carry a small watermark and last 30 days.
Light or HQ?
Light is the default: fast, cheap, and the only option at 1080p. HQ runs full Genjutsu for cleaner motion at 480p or 720p, for about 3x the credits. Try Light first, and switch to HQ for fast hands or two-person scenes. Light vs HQ in detail.

How much does a Genjutsu video cost?
A full 15-second Light video is planned at 75 credits at 480p (about $1.49–1.69), 150 at 720p and 285 at 1080p. HQ is 240 credits at 480p and 510 at 720p.
Is there a subscription?
No. Credits come in one-time packs from $9 to $99. Nothing renews, and paid credits expire 12 months after purchase.
How are seconds counted?
Per second of output, rounded up, on up to the first 15 seconds of the source clip. A 9.2-second clip is billed as 10 seconds.
What happens if a generation fails?
At launch, the credits held for that job are planned to be returned to your balance automatically. That's a credit return, not a money refund; pack purchases are final.
Do I get free credits?
Yes, at launch: 80 free credits after email verification, enough for one full 15-second Light video at 480p. They last 30 days.
